Evil in the Garden (Part Nine)

Journal Entry: Tuesday, July 11, 2006

When Adam turned over his domain to Satan, aka, the serpent; it left him and Eve standing buck naked in the middle of their garden trying to cover the shame of their loss with a fig leaf. And because Adam willingly turned over all of his earthly possessions to a rebel servant angel of God – God kicked him out of the garden and he was not allowed to re-enter.

One thing that prevented Adam from recovering everything he had lost to Satan in the garden was his inability to communicate with his Creator. He not only lost his line of communication with the Lord God, but he had created a separation between them leaving him alone in the world. Adam would still live in the presence of God, but he would not enjoy the same personal contact he had had with the Lord God previously. Men think God withdraws His presence from man when he sins, but that is not true. God did not move away from Adam because he sinned; Adam withdrew himself from the protective custody of the Lord when he sinned, thus turning control of his life over to Satan. That was Adam’s treason.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has reestablished our line of communication with God. He did so when He became our sacrificial sin offering unto God. Man was lost without God, and God was at a lost because of mans rebellion. So He devised a way to reclaim man as his own. While in the Garden of Eden shortly after Adam and Eve’s treason had been discovered; the Lord God told Satan what His plan was, “He (Jesus) shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” God doesn’t withhold information from us as many people think. We may not understand what He is saying to us any more than Satan did that day, but He tells us what His plans are and has written them down in a book so we can study them any time we like. The book is called the Holy Bible, and He wrote them down because He wants us to be able to enjoy the benefits of our relationship with Him. Some of those benefits are our health, our wealth, and our soundness of mind. The very same benefits Adam enjoyed before he sinned. And all we have to do to enjoy the same relationship Adam had with the Lord before his fall is to repent of our sins or crimes against God and our fellow man and ask Him to forgive us for those crimes. It really is that simple for us to enjoy the very same benefits God provided for Adam because the bible tells us that; “in Christ, we live, and move, and have our being. As some of your own (Greek) poets have said; ‘For we are all His offspring.” (Acts 17:28)

If we are in Christ who created everything that has been created; then we do not have a problem of lack because Christ has no lack, and, “He supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory;” (Philippians 4:19) but we do have a serious hearing problem. We are guilty of listening to the wrong person instead of hearing what God tells us in His Word, the Holy Bible. And instead of Christs’ body being healthy, wealthy, and wise, as God’s Word tell us we are; for the most part His church is sick, broke, and disgusted with life.

God is not the one telling us we are sick, broke, and disgusted; anymore than He was the one who told Adam he was naked. Mankind has to take responsibility for his own actions and stop blaming God or other people for our problems. Adam created his own problem that resulted in his nakedness; but when the Lord God confronted him about the situation; he blamed his wife. Does that sound familiar? Adam listened to the serpent and got into a peck of trouble. And when we listen to the con artist and allow him to deceive us with his lies; we open the door for him to take away our rights and privileges that have been granted to us under the newly ratified covenant we have with Almighty God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind. This newly ratified covenant between God and man is called the New Testament of Jesus Christ. And in the New Testament God gives us a look at the benefit package He provides for all who love Him.  He has included in His plan something for everyone; and He has layed out for us His provisions, how they were obtained, and how we are to activate them in our life. And if we want to know the whole truth about how much God loves us; we need to read the whole New Testament. DThrash
