I thought Jesus was the Son of God; why did He go to Hell? (Part One)

There are people who say when we die we just go into the ground and that’s the end; there is nothing more. Then there are those who say they believe in a hereafter, but do nothing to prepare for it in advance, and there are those who are counting upon the love of God to keep them from going to hell even though they live like the devil here on earth. According to the scriptures none of these people qualify for heaven because none of them did what God requires of them to gain entrance into heaven. John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This scripture tells us man must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to gain entrance into God’s heavenly home. He also tells us in this scripture that God loved the people of this world so much that He gave the life of His Son to save us from going to the place of eternal torment He calls hell.

Man wasn’t created to spend eternity in hell. Hell was created for the devil and the angels who followed him in his rebellion. Man was created to live his life in the presence of God. But Adam, the first man on earth and the father of mankind, sinned, and lost his right standing with God, and we have been in a continual battle with sin since then. Adam’s sin separated man from God. And because of Adam’s sin; man is born into this world with a sin consciousness rather than a God consciousness. Saying we are born with a sin consciousness is another way of saying man is more conscious of the desire for sinning than he is aware of the Godly influence on his life. Even more perplexing is that man cannot get rid of his sin consciousness or his desire to sin by himself. God has to convert that soul that is separated from his creator by his sin unto a living soul whose desire is to serve the Lord God. And if that soul isn’t redeemed and converted to its original state of purity such as Adam enjoyed before his fall from grace, that soul will spend eternity in hell. Good works will not keep a lost man from going to hell. Your mother and father’s faith in God will not keep you out of hell. Going to heaven or going to hell is a personal decision. And God has been gracious enough to let us make the decision on where we want to spend our eternity. Our decision is made clear by the life we live. In John 10:10 Jesus states; “The thief (devil) comes to steal, kill, and to destroy; but I (Jesus) have come that they (man) might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” It is abundantly clear in this statement who influences us to do what in this world. And it is also the barometer that tells us who is influencing our decisions. Satan is the father of evil and people who do evil do so under the influences of the devil, and those whose desire is to help others does so under the influence of the Lord. Satan’s desire is to destroy you, but Jesus came to save you from your destruction.

There are many schools of thought on how to get to heaven. Some believe that everyone is going to heaven. And some believe that by killing others is the way to heaven. But the bible tells us; no one but the Lord can save a lost soul from going to hell. And for that lost soul to escape hell, it must come to God on His conditions and surrender the rights to his life to the Lord because Father God paid a king’s ransom to give it that opportunity. Now it is up to the lost man to go in search of their Savior and pledge their loyalty to Him. God has told us in Ephesians 2:11-22 that; “Without Him; we our without hope in this world.” If we don’t take advantage of His redemption offer and we do not go search for our Savior with our whole heart; we will be lost forever without any hope of ever gaining our release from the place God called the place of everlasting torment. He has also told us, if we will search for Him with all of our heart, He will be found. And if we commit our life to Him, we will be redeemed. And if we serve Him all the days of our life, we will live in His presence forever ruling and reigning over all of creation right alongside of His Son, Jesus the Christ. DThrash
