“God own’s everything. Man own’s nothing!” is a line from my blog the ‘Christian and his Money’. God owns everything He created, but He is also kind enough to let us use as much of it as we need for as long as we have need of it. But there are some things in life that God has told man to keep his hands off of. One thing man was not to partake of was the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. In the fullness of the garden this was the only thing the Lord God told Adam to leave alone. Adam watched over God’s portion and tended it as he had been instructed. He did good until a serpent told him God’s portion of Adam’s kingdom (the fruit tree) had the power to grant unto him the knowledge of good and evil. We know that Adam gave in to the tempation and ate of the fruit from the tree; and the warning God had issued to him on the day he was created came to pass. Adam was created an eternal being just like the Lord God and his fleshly body would have lived forever had he not partook of something that God had strictly forbidden him to partake of. The very moment Adam ate some of God’s portion; the Spirit of Eternal Life left him, (the Holy Spirit) and his physical body began to die. God only withholds from His children a lit bit of all that is on earth. But when we begin to believe that He is not serious about us taking what He has set aside for Himself, we are seriously mistaken. Adam took one bite out a single piece of fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and lost his kingdom. What do you think we lose when we take of what belongs to God and spend it upon our own lust? Here’s another thought along this line of reasoning. When someone takes something that doesn’t belong to them; what does that make that person? It makes them a thief. So everytime we dip our hand into God’s portion of our money and spend His portion upon our own lust; what do you think happens? Adam died after eating of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil; and when we dip our hand into God’s money we have proven to Him that we can’t be trusted even with a little bit. Why then do we think He is going to give us more?
Then came Moses and the law of tithing was instituted to remind the Israelites that part of their first fruits belonged to God and they were not to partake of it. After a while they began to see their first fruits as their own, and God called them thieves in Malachi chapter 3.
Next, God came Himself, wrapped in a body of flesh and stationed Himself among men so His people could see the greatness and the goodness of God. Jesus was God’s portion to man. God had told His people, “Touch not my anointed.” The Jews touched God’s Anonted One and lost their beloved temple and their promise land.
Lastly, the body of Christ is on the earth with the commandment to turn the other cheek, because, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.” We are but men all made in the likeness of God, therefore it is wrong for one man to strike another man down and damage God’s property. Men are God’s portion because men are the children of God. What do you think happens when we harm God’s property? Like Adam, we have been warned, “Do not murder.” Or, ‘do not take an innocent life.” Life is precious in the eyes of God and we do not have the right to destroy an innocent person who is our equal and who likewise is made in the image of our creator. That is why God said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.” Come Judgment Day, God is going to do a lot of repaying for the misdeeds that have been done to innocent babies who suffered horrific deaths because they were considered an inconvenience to the mother and her lifestyle. Man belongs to God. Man is God’s portion, and other men have touched God’s children. Those people will pay dearly just like Adam did, and just like the Jews who had the Son of God killed thinking if He was dead His teachings would die out and go away. Adam was wrong and lost his kingdom, the Isreaelites were wrong and went into captivity, the Jews were wrong and lost their temple, and the evil people of today are wrong and will pay the ultimate price for touching God’s portion.
