A House Divided, Falls.
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against itself falls.” [Luke 11:17] First, let us understand that God is not the one who causes division among people. That is the work of the devil and his crowd. Satan’s mission in life is to bring about the death of whatever he is allowed to touch. So he does his dead level best to create division in govenment, family, groups, and especially in the church of God. If he can cause a rift, he can bring about the groups demise. Many powerful countries have fallen by the wayside because of division from within. And if anyone should understand the statement Jesus made above, it is the church. But they don’t understand, and that has allowed some 3300 different denominations to develop because of some little dispute over what they think a particular verse of scripture means. Or they grab ahold of one verse of scripture and take it out of context and begin to preach that verse as a foundational truth. There is only one foundational truth for man; and that is Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the sins of man. No man can enter heaven unless they first pass through Jesus Christ the door that allows a person entrance into God’s heavenly kingdom. Upon that foundational truth man can trust his eternal future; without it he has no hope. Those denominations who have based their belief system upon something other than Jesus Christ and Him crucified have put themselves in a dangerous place. They think they are safe, but really they have one foot in hell. There are some denominations who preach salvation through baptism and others preach against musical instruments in the church, and still others teach praying to an angel or a dead saint will get you an answer to your prayer, and the list goes on. All these various beliefs sound good to the religious minded individuals, but none of them are scriptural. Baptism won’t save us, and playing muscial instruments in church won’t send us to hell, but praying to angels and dead saints will.
The story of eternal life is about God and what He did for man. It isn’t about sinful man nor what we do to try and prove to Him that we are worthy of heaven. So the silly things people use as a denominational truth is nothing more than wishful thinking on the part of a religious person. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one goes to the Father except through Him. When we do things God’s way, He blesses us and our efforts. But when we try to circumvent Him and do things our way, we will find out He doesn’t have any shortcuts. It’s His way, or hell’s way. Serving God isn’t an either, or, relationship. The bible is full of history of man doing things his way only to find out it lead them into captivity and tragedy. But when they did things God’s way, it lead them to freedom, prosperity, and blessings untold. So whether we separate ourselves from each other or from God through disagreements, both relationships will come to a tragic end. DThrash
