So You Want To Go To Heaven Do You?
Many people say there are many ways to get to heaven, but the truth is as Jesus said, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one He has SENT.” That false teacher you are following; “Do you believe He was sent from God?” You do. Well, let’s see if he can pass the God Test. Was he just noted as a good person or did he actually do good deeds for the common man to improve their situation? Did he die for you so that you might live? Did he heal the sick, cast the devil of possessed people so they could have their life back? Did he raise the dead, open blind eyes and deaf ears? Does he calm your fears and replace your fear with hope? Did he calm the stormy seas? Did he walk on water? Did that false teacher prophesy of coming events hundreds of years ago accurately telling you of the terrible times that are coming upon the earth under the one world government now forming? Jesus did. These are just a few of the works that qualify a person sent of God. So if the one you are following never did any of those things – what makes you so sure they were sent from God and can get you into His kingdom when you die? What have they done for their fellow man other than write their thoughts down on paper? If they never did any of the above listed things they have done nothing to prove to anyone they were sent by God.
Jesus tells us in John 5:22-23 “The Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son. That all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” Do you see in these two scriptures what Jesus is implying? No. Well, you might be surprised when I include these next scriptures found in the Gospel of John that go along with the two aforementioned scriptures. John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and NO ONE goes to the Father except through me.” And, in John 10:9 “I AM THE DOOR. If anyone enters by me, (or through me) he will be saved …” And John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” And the last scripture I will use is taken from the sequence of events that took place prior to the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples before His crucifixion. In this series of events Jesus is washing the feet of His disciples and comes to Peter and Peter says to the Lord, “You shall never wash my feet!” Peter thought this action was a disgrace for the Lord of Heaven to be washing mens feet. But, Jesus says to Peter in John 13:8, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Or, let me paraphrase what Jesus just said to Peter; “If you do not allow me to wash you, – because I am the entry way or the doorway through which you must enter to be received into My Father’s kingdom – you cannot go to be with Me.” Are you beginning to understand now what Jesus implied when He said, “He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him?” If there is any doubt remaining as to what Jesus meant – let me make it perfectly clear what Jesus is telling us; Man cannot have a relationship with the Father unless they accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of their life. If we do not accept the sacrificial lamb of God and the work He did in our behalf when He went to the cross, we will not be allowed entrance into the Father’s kingdom. The Father set things up this way so that man would pay tribute to His Son as Jesus explained in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world (or, the people who make up the world) that HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, (as a sacrificial lamb for the sins of man) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world THROUGH HIM might be saved.” If anyone reading this still thinks there is more than one way to get to heaven – you won’t be going. If you think you can have a relationship with God and bypass His Son – you better think again. You can’t. If you think you are in some way honoring God with your good works. You aren’t. There is only one way into the kingdom of Heaven and that way is through the Son of God. If you are presently following the teachings of another person – and you should die, you will go to hell. That person did not die for you so you could enjoy the benefits of heaven. But, the Son of God, who in the beginning was the Word of God, who took upon Himself a fleshly body named Jesus, did. And He plainly tells us, “He is the only way to the Father.” If we do not honor Him, we do not honor the Father either, nor will we be honored by the Father unless we honor His Son while living in this life.
