What Will You Say?
Many people are of the idea that God does not exist. The idea there is no God is based solely upon human reasoning deducing that if something isn’t seen, it doesn’t exist. This is a poor way of determining reality because the most real things in God’s creation cannot be seen with the natural eye using the most powerful magnification instruments made by man. We can view His ever expanding creation, but we cannot see what influences us to do the things we don’t want to do. Jesus said in [Luke 17:20b & 21b], “The Kingdom of God does not come with observation… For indeed, the Kingdom of God is within you.” Our finite mind cannot begin to comprehend that God is so big He encompasses the whole of Creation, but small enough He can live inside His offspring.
What cannot be seen with the natural eye nor understood by the natural mind of man is plainly seen through the eye of faith through which God operates in the life of man. Before Jesus came to earth, He was the Word of God, and it was the Word of God who created all things by His power and Majesty. [John 1:1-2] When He appeared on earth most Israelites could not comprehend with their natural mind that Jesus was both God and man because all they could see was a man of flesh who was a carpenter and lived in Nazareth, but was able to explain Godly mysteries, perform miracles using just words, and called God His Father.
This is the same problem people have with things unseen today. We can see the results of an action, but we cannot see the initial thought that induced the action. When Jesus, the Word of God in the flesh, came to earth, He interrupted life as they knew it. He did things no man before Him had been able to do which caught the attention of the unbeliever. He opened the eyes of the blind; which also represents God opening the understanding of the darkened mind of the unbeliever today. He cast out devils; which openly showed the two opposing powers that operate on the earth. He demonstrated for man, that God and good is greater than Satan and evil, and because He is God, He is to be heard and obeyed because He holds the future of all men in His hand. If we do not believe Jesus is who He says He is, and we should die in our sin; we will become a believer and bow our head in submission on the day we stand before Him to answer the question, “Why did you not believe that I AM who I said I AM.” What will you say? People may think murder is the chief crime one man can commit against another, but that is not true. The greatest crime a man can commit is not believing that Jesus is the Christ. That single act is rejecting God, and His Son, who voluntarily died on a cross in our place so we wouldn’t have to spend eternity in hell, to serve the one who will cause us to be cast into hell. How smart is that? DThrash
