Taking Back America

I woke up this morning and the Lord was on my mind. I said; “Lord, I am yours. What would you have me do?” And He said, “Write. Tell the people, I love them.” Later, I read a blog I had written earlier and decided to repost it.

On that particular morning I was thinking about the state of affairs in our country and what I could do to help get us back on track. A second thought came to me, “I am only one voice crying out to be heard among 310 million others. What can I do about the many problems this country is currently facing?” Then the answer came to me, “Alone, I can do nothing, but if I join myself to others who are all saying the same thing, all things become possible.”

Approximately eighty-four percent of the people in America profess to be Christian. That leaves sixteen percent who are not, but it appears to me that the sixteen percent have been much more active in legislating what happens in our country than the eighty-four percent who claim to be Christian. That tells me there is something definitely wrong when a small minority of people determines how the other eighty-four percent of the population lives. Somebody is either sleeping or they just don’t care. Either way they don’t understand the consequences of their lack of action. A minority can only dictate how things will be for everyone if the majority refuses to get involved. And as a result of the lack of action on the part of the majority; over the past several years the minority has been allowed to take control of America’s future. And they are desperately trying to remove any semblance of God from our country. Psalm 33:12 tells us, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” But, right now, America is not blessed. The times have changed, and America has changed course, their destination is no longer clear, and hardly anyone has taken notice. We are now operating under the curse that accompanies a people’s rebellion against the God who raised us up from the ashes of tyranny and blessed us and built us into the greatest nation that has ever inhabited the earth. At one time, we called ourself, “America, The Beautiful,” and we was the envy of the world; and the pagan peoples of the world came to see the greatness of the country God had blessed. We were mighter in knowledge, power, and wealth, than any country in the history of mankind. God was in our homes, our churches, our schools, and our government. He was with us in the work place, and on the battle fields. And wherever we went; God accompanied us and blessed us, and the world knew it.

But slowly we opened the door to God’s enemy and welcomed him into our homes, our schools, our government, our work places; and he has made a mockery of the greatest nation the world has ever known. Yes, America is full of problems and the problems are getting worse with each passing day. And because of our forbearance of evil, we have lost the respect of the world that once feared us because of the God who walked among us. Which is a clear indication that God no longer has first place in the heart of His people. But, all is not lost! It is not time to give up, but to wake up! It is the time to arise and take America back! It’s time the majority said, “Enough is enough!” We want America back, and we are going to take her back! We want God back in our homes, in our churches, in our schools, in our judicial system, in our government, and in our lives! And if the sixteen percent don’t like it there are plenty of other godless countries in this world where they can go and live among their own kind. You know we have fallen from grace when the leader of our people tells foreign dignitaries we are no longer a Christian nation and bows before a heathen king. It is time to realize we had better wake up, get up, and take a stand while we are still free to do so, or we can kiss our country good-bye and the minority will remove the few remaining rights we Christians have left.

I am not here to tell you what to do. I don’t have the answers to America’s problems, but I know the one who does. And He tells us, “If we will make Him the God of our country, He will bless this nation.” I know what the Word of God says about how we are to deal with problems, and I can point out the problems Christians are afraid to admit, and I can pray that Christians will awaken to the fact that if we do not ask the Lord, “What would you have me do today?” And if we don’t do what He tells us to do; God will turn His back upon us and let the devil have his way. Not because He has to, not because He wants to, and not because He can’t do anything about it, but because we won’t let Him help us. God can live without America, but America cannot survive without God. He gave it to us and He can take it away. It was a battle for our forefathers to win this country away from all the other countries that wanted it, but with God’s help, we won because we had leaders like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin who wanted the same thing for this country God wanted. And we can win this battle by returning to God once again and asking Him, “What He would have us do today.” By myself, I am only one voice crying in the wilderness, but you make two, and if you and I wake up another person each, our voices double, and it won’t be long until we will have enough voices to be heard, and by using our voting priviledges we can remove those people from office with whom we do not see eye to eye. The future of this country is in the hands of God’s church. Let us make good use of our time wisely selecting qualified candidates to run for office and then electing them, thus ensuring the future of the church in America, as well as the future of our children. So go wake up your brother or sister in the Lord and teach them to ask, “Lord, what would you have me do today?” The time is late and there is work to be done before the Lord returns for His church.

If someone is not for God they are against Him. If someone is not for Christ they are anti-christ. That’s pretty clear english. And we know who is who by what they do. People lie with their mouth, but their actions bear them out. If they are for God they will do what God’s Word directs them to do, and if they are not of God they will not follow His Word. That is how we know the difference; and those people who are against God is who we want to remove from office because they are attempting to remove our God given rights, redefine our morals, and do away with ethical behavior. Politicians are servants of the people. We need to remind them of that. The only reason they are in office is to serve the people and make the life of the people they serve better by their wise stewardship. We do not have a king, and we should not treat our elected servants like kings. They have a job to do just the same as you and I; and if they want to return for a second term to continue their work in our behalf, they will do so only because they served us well enough to keep their job. Now let me ask you a question. Do you know of any employees who sets their own pay scale and benefit packages and those of their employers? I bet not! If an employer won’t let their employee’s set their pay scale and benefit package, why do we? The American people are the employers of all elected officials. They only have the power we have given them and no more. We hired them and we can fire them. So why do we let them abuse their powers and get away with the things we do? I don’t know how to say this any clearer; we do so because we are dumb. We have let them get the cart before the horse and the cart has been trying to pull the horse instead of the horse pulling the cart. Things never work out when they are out of perspective. It’s about time the American people let our elected servants know who they work for. We need to serve them notice: “You, sir; madame; seem to have forgotten who you work for; but we haven’t. November is just a few short months away and we have a pinkslip with your name on it.”

This is not a fight between the eighty-four percent of the American people who are professing Christians that make up the church and Republicans or Democrats. This is a battle between God and Satan, good and evil. Jesus gives us the definition of evil in John 10:10 “The thief (Satan and his followers) comes to steal, kill and to destroy.” And He followed that statement up with what is good, “But I (Jesus) have come that you may have life, and life more abundantly.” For the past several years we have witnessed the work of the evil doers we have put in office and we are worse off than we have ever been. The church has allowed them to kick God out of our schools and never said a word. We have allowed them to murder fifty million unborn American babies through the abortion process in the last thirty-eight years and never said a word. The church has allowed them to tread on our constitutional rights and legislate foreign law from the judges bench and haven’t said a word. We have allowed them to ship our manufacturing jobs overseas and south of our border, lower our educational requirements to next to nothing, and we haven’t said a word. And now we are wondering why we are struggling to keep our kids in church, have a good marriage, find a job, and get a quality education. Our elected servants who make up our government are not gods. You have seen the hardship of the people in the former Russian confederation, North Korea, and China. These places where man is god who go to the extreme to keep their people from escaping their harshness. Those countries of oppression where men was and still is god, are bleak, desolate places, where right is might and the media outlets and the organized churches are nothing more than an extension of the men who run them. I certainly hope that is not what the eighty-four percent of Americans who confess to be Christians want for America. We are not far from reaching that low point. When I wrote, “We never said a word.” I was saying God’s church, the eighty-four percent of American who profess to be Christians has been asleep for so long we no longer know the difference between right and wrong. What is acceptable and what isn’t. We have become like a drunk in a stupor. Confused about who we are and what is going on around us. All we’ve been doing for the past fifty plus years is covering up our heads hoping the world will stop spinning. It won’t! Somebody throw a bucket of cold water in our face. Please! It is time to wake up, get up, and go to work. It’s time to get serious before it is too late to do anything about the mess the church has let our elected servants gets us into. Now it’s time to ask God, “Lord, what would you have me do today?” He has not abandoned us like we have Him. He may have us do something as simple as praying for His blessings upon our country; or He might tell us to reach out to our hurting neighbors, or run for office, but one thing is for certain, He will give each of us something to do each and everyday and our lives will be changed, and our country will be changed. We will see things from His perspective, and we will see real and beneficial change in areas we once thought were impregnable. Our burdens will be removed and we will become what God desires this nation to be; a nation of blessed people. If we are faithful in asking, God will be faithful in giving us something new to do each day. And as we do our part, God will bless us and this country. We cannot be blessed without the country being blessed and vice versa. But God won’t work in this country without the aid of His people. We’ve seen the result of people trying to run this country without Him. DThrash
