The Veiled Gospel
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in the church at Corinth in 2 Corinthians 4:3&4, “Even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Do you have trouble understanding the scriptures like many people did in the Corinthian Church? If you do it’s because your mind has been blinded by the god of this age. This is not a put down, but you have closed your mind to the truth and have not done anything about it. Embrace your walk with Christ and let your past stay in the past. Don’t try to drag your past into the present. It won’t work. You can’t live in the past and walk in faith in the present. It doesn’t work that way. The past is a heavy weight you no longer have to carry. Put it down, God forgave you of your past sins, now move forward and embrace eternal life.
The bible teaches us in Romans 14:23, “Anything that is not of faith is sin.” We need to remember that little scripture. We are in sin if we think God is not big enough to handle all of our problems. God not only can handle our problems, He already has. He has done everything for us He is going to do. Our part is to believe Him and live like we believe Him by doing what He says. He already knows whether or not you believe Him. You need to admit to yourself your lack of faith in Him, then do something about it.
God is not out to destroy us. God loves us. He hides nothing from the saint or the sinner. It’s all there in His Word. All we have to do is read it! He created every one of us to be kings and priest unto Him. Do you hide things that are important from your children? No you don’t if it means their life would be endangered because you withheld information from them. That’s how God is. He does not withhold important information from us either. He wants us to know what is going on and all we have to do is yield to Him and He will open our understanding so we can understand His Word. Don’t block out the light, the true light, found only in the Word of God… let the light in and your life will change. Otherwise, the gospel of truth will remain veiled to you; and as long as you continue to walk in the darkness of ignorance concerning the things of God, you are perishing slowly but surely. DThrash
