Yesterday’s faith won’t get you through today. Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is…” and Jesus told us in Matthew 6:34, “Take no thought for tomorrow for sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” What He is telling us is each new day comes packed with its own evil… and during the year of 2013 some 65 million people will die on earth. The majority of them will not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. And much of their lack of understanding of who Jesus is – is the result of the present day church trying to live in the past on yesterday’s faith in which there is no power. Stop it?
The past is history and so is yesterday’s faith. Yesterday’s faith contained enough power to meet the demands of evil, yesterday. It takes ‘Now Faith’, today’s faith to meet the demands of evil today. What we did yesterday to defeat Satan was good, but with each new day we have to renew our faith in Jesus Christ and use it to help those who can’t help themselves. There is nothing we can do about yesterday, but there is something we can do about today and the evil it contains. ‘Today’ is the day of salvation, it is a day of joy and gladness and victories to be won in Jesus Christ. So let us go forth ‘today’ expecting to make the acquaintance of someone who needs Jesus, then help them find Him through our words and actions.
