We have been studying Faith in our Tuesday night bible study and based upon what the bible says faith is and how we see God’s children living today are complete opposites.
86% of the people in America say they are Christian. We know that number is extremely exaggerated and is not even close to being accurate. If 86% of the people in America were Christians and a sheep of the flock of God; America would not be in the pitiful condition it is presently.
Yesterday’s faith contained enough power to meet the demands of evil, yesterday. It takes ‘Now Faith’, today’s faith to meet the demands of evil today.
The purpose of Christianity and the reason God provides for us is so that we might spend as much time as possible bringing God’s lost sheep back home and into the kingdom of God where they will be looked after and cared for by the Master Himself.
If Jesus had listened to the religious leaders of His day and came down from His cross; we would still be lost in our sin and on our way to hell. Religion would send us all to hell, but Jesus didn’t listen to them and experienced the full range of pain and emotions that accompany His cross experience. As a result of Him embracing His cross, more people have been won to Him through His death then He ever won with preaching while He was alive on earth. If that were not true, we would not be sitting here today reading of His refusal to come down from the cross because we needed a Savior, we didn’t need an escape artist to be our God.
Throughout her life, Mary remained rock steady in her trust of the plan the angel had laid out before her when she was just fourteen years old.
When we talk to God, we must believe He hears us and will grant our petition. If we just talk into the air expecting nothing to happen? Nothing happens.
God has not changed since Jesus talked with the rich ruler. His requirements to inherit eternal life are the same now as they were then. The requirements are to, ‘Forsake all’ and follow Him, or ‘keep what we have’ and lose our soul.
Man is the source of his problems, therefore he cannot solve his problems. To solve his problems he would have to change his thinking and he can’t change the way he thinks because there is no good thing in him. Man is inherently evil. His thinking is corrupted because it is based upon selfishness. His action are polluted because he has no pure motives upon which to base his actions.
